Reclining seats and cold
I wrote a review for the new ship Galicia a few months ago and I'm sailing on it as I write this review. I economised this time and had a reclining seat instead of a cabin. Never again, the reclining seats are very uncomfortable indeed. An experiment not to be repeated even though a cabin for one person is expensive. The only other comment I have on this voyage is that the ship was very cold everywhere. The only way to warm up was to sit in the sunshine by a window, but on the second day as we approached the UK there was no sun and it was very cold indeed.

Positive Sailings....
Brittany Ferries have always provided me with incredible service, in my many years of sailing I am only reminded of once there had been an issue, but this was resolved within the ability they had and without any fuss. I have always recommended Brittany crossings and will continue to until the cost of traveling excludes me from sailing. Please don't put your prices up....

Flexi Ticket refund
My sincere apologies . The transaction is dated 6 May and wasn't processed until 15th June. I had no reason to look back to 6th May, Thank you for pointing out the error of my ways.
I have written both good and bad reviews for Brittany Ferries, I use them four times a year.
I had to cancel my ferry crossing due to my wife's ill health back in May.
I am due 75% of the fare paid as a refund.
Despite an exchange of emails promising a response in 14 days (dated 27th June) here we are with no response.
Brittany ALWAYS collect fares on the due date but, curiously, are incapable of refunding within agreed timescales.
Unacceptable behaviour and too much like dealing with Ryanair for my liking!
Missed outgoing ferry due to a…
Missed outgoing ferry due to a mechanical breakdown. Arrived at the port for the return journey to be told my return was cancelled. Had to pay additional 239€ to get home.
Customer services no help due to policy. No refunds, no coupons. Told the condition was in the small print, and should of contacted them before missing the outgoing ferry. Good luck getting anyone there to answer the phone at 05.00 whilst breakdown on the motorway. Moral is always check I guess if missing the outgoing they will not inform you of the return cancellation.
Excellent & Enjoyable Journey
Heading off to France bike touring. Easy check in and departure. Comfortable and enjoyable crossing. Nice dinner & wine. Will use again soon.

Excellent customer service
I recently made a booking but there was no availability in the Commodore class cabins on one leg of journey. Tina was helping with my reservation and offered keep an eye out for a cancellation for me. I was very pleasantly surprised when Tina called to advise that there had been a cancellation and I promptly upgraded my journey. Great work from Tina.
The website give error message…
While editing an existing booking, the website gives you an error message when the boat has no room for new cars instead of just telling you that the ship's car park is full. Because of these error messages, I had to wait 45 minutes before anyone would answer the phone.
Please fix your website.
Also would be great to have a waiting list function, so we don't have to call to see if anyone has cancelled.
Very pleased…
I live in France and was very pleased to be able to reserve France - UK - France and pay in sterling.

Foot Passengers get 3rd class Treatment
Having very recently praised the experience for foot passengers on the Portsmouth to Caen route (MV Normandie) I now have to report on the reverse journey. Oh dear! There were not many foot passengers, but those that there were had to board the ship last. On arrival in Portsmouth, foot passengers were made to wait an extraordinary amount of time to disembark, long after car drivers had been called to their vehicles (for no apparent reason other than a lack of personnel it appeared). Then the long 'vertical zig-zag), with heavy luggage, down to quay level. There is a lift on the French side.....why not in Portsmouth? And finally.....WHAT a disappointment to discover that the main restaurant was only offering a buffet. A good buffet, but also, since the restaurant did not open until quite late into the journey, I witnessed several groups declining to use the restaurant because of the poor menu. (A huge amount of food must have been discarded because if this?). Please Brittany Ferries.....address the issues relating to poor quality service for foot passengers. These issues have been raised many times now. (As always, the crew were great and did their apologetic best).

Shocking cleaning of the cabin
Shocking cleaning of the cabin, hairs and crumbs on the floor. We complained and returned - no difference. Moved to a pre-prepared cabin, cleaned by the cabin service personnel, still unfit for purpose, crumbs and hairs. On each occasion the service assistant agreed the cabin was dirty. We slept in this cabin!
Tried to complain using the Resolver , three times but technical problem meant didn't go through each time. Unfit for purpose, difficult to raise complaint.
booking for france
booked for france as long as you have the right details its quick and easy
Good Crossing.
Everything was fine and we enjoyed the crossing more than our usual night crossing from Ouistreham to Portsmouth.

It's just not the standard of pont aven
Just off the galicia today 14th July. Warnings:
Don't expect anything more than a coffin sized cabin if you are used to pont aven.
Don't expect any understanding from the French crew who laughed when I expected something better. Very patronising.
Don't expect the air con to work when outside temp is 35 and beyond. It just can't cope. They will say engine room trying to fix it. Not true. They just wait until cooler waters in evening. I ended up sleeping on deck till around 230 when cabin was cooler.
Be aware. Only 3 commodore suites.. the next level is a 2 berth coffin sized cabin.
One positive. The cclub offers free food all day with free wine a number of times through day.
Be aware duty free is limited both in opening times and products.. not like pont aven.
The crossing takes 30 very long hours from santander to Portsmouth.
Would I use it again? Only if there was no other option. At least I now know what to expect.
